چکیده

Usually blood glucose levels measured in the fasted status (fasting glucose) are lower than fed (postprandial glucose). However, postprandial (PBG) fasting (FBG) can be found some cases. This study aims to describe prevalence, clinical characteristics, and contributing risk factors for PBG ≤F BG. It’s a nationwide cohort [the National Key R&D Program of China (2016YFC1305700)] conducted China, 16,116 people had an oral tolerance test, haematology, biochemistry tests, sociodemographic anthropometric data collection. We calculated prevalence BG (‘Low Post Load’ group) PBG>FBG (‘High group), used logistic regression evaluate association with factors. A total natural population [mean age: 49.95 ± 11.82 years old; 10,635 females (65.99%); mean BMI: 25.07 3.86 kg/m2] were included. The was 24.13% group, n = 3,889) 75.87% 12,227). Compared participants High Load Low group FBG (5.53 0.88 vs 5.70 1.28, P < 0.000), (4.64 0.91 8.03 3.13, 0.000) HbA1c (5.33 0.52 5.55 0.83, 0.000). People ≤FBG more likely have hypoglycaemia incidence impaired (IFG, FBG: 6.1–6.9 mmol/L) compared (P (Fig. 1). In analyses associated age<44 years; male; Uyghur or Zhuang ethnicity; BMI<24 kg/m2; normal pressure; heart rate<100 beats/min; as never drinker former drinker; HDL cholesterol≥1.55 mmol/L; TG<1.70 mmol/L, all 0.000. is related young age, BMI, pressure, higher cholesterol TG. IFG PBG>FBG. relationship between this phenomenon progression diabetes needs further exploration longitudinal analyses.

Lower fasting blood glucose in neurofibromatosis type 1

Studies indicate a lower occurrence of diabetes mellitus (DM) in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Fasting blood glucose (FBG) level is the main criterion used to diagnose DM and glucose intolerance. Therefore, this study compared FBG level between adults with NF1 and non-NF1 controls. We selected clinical records of 57 out of 701 individuals attending the Neurofibromatosis Outpatie...

Fasting blood glucose (FBG) monitoring is currently the most common diagnostic method, which is an invasive and stressful procedure. Most recently, the use of non-invasive, convenient methods like fasting salivar...

Association of 1,5-Anhydroglucitol and 2-h Postprandial Blood Glucose in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

OBJECTIVE To assess the association of 1,5-anhydroglucitol (1,5-AG) with 2-h postprandial glucose values in type 2 diabetic patients followed over 12 months in an outpatient setting. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS In 55 patients, we examined self-measured postprandial blood glucose values for correlations with 1,5-AG values over prespecified preceding time periods (3 days, 1 week, and weekly up ...
